Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) has secured the supply of 19,980,000 tonnes of high quality aggregates (gabbro and limestone) over the next three years from various sources, through four agreements.

This will ensure that Qatar’s fast growing construction sector has access to the required materials and thereby maintains market stability. The four companies who were party to the signing are: The Gate Primary Materials, Continental Trading Company, Qatar Engineering Alliance Co and Al Baida Technical Services. These agreements also ensure diversification in supply source, in line with QPMC’s vision to secure the required primary materials for both public and private sectors in Qatar. The implementation of the agreements start early 2016.

Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) has signed four new contracts for supplying 19.98 million tonnes of primary materials including (Gabbro and limestone) to Qatar over the next three years from various sources.

The four agreements were signed with the following companies: The Gate Primary Materials, Continental Trading Company, Qatar Engineering Alliance Co and Al Baida Technical Services, QPMC said in a release on Sunday.

The agreements come in line with QPMC's vision of diversifying supply sources to secure the needed primary materials, for public and private sectors in Qatar. The deals will also contribute to the revitalisation of the role of the most important economic sectors in Qatar and will achieve sustainable development that ensures the provision of all the required quantities, as well as the stability of prices of primary materials in the local market.

Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) said it has signed four new contracts for supply of 19.98 million tonne of primary materials including (Gabbro and limestone) from across the GCC region over the next three years.

The signing of the pacts with The Gate Primary Materials, Continental Trading Company, Qatar Engineering Alliance Company and Al Baida Technical Services comes as part of QPMC's plans to diversify supply sources to secure the necessary raw materials for public and private sectors in Qatar.

The actual implementation of the contract will start in the coming months, reported the state news agency QNA. QPMC said as per the deal, private Qatari companies Continental Trading, Al Baida and Qatar Engineering Alliance will procure primary materials from Oman, while Al Bawaba Primary Materials Company will get the contracted quantity from the UAE.

The four contracts which signed with The Gate Primary Materials, Continental Trading Company, Qatar Engineering Alliance Co. and Al Baida Technical Services come as part of QPMC’s plans to diversify supply sources to secure the necessary raw materials for public and private sectors in Qatar. The actual implementation of the contract to begin at beginning of this year.

This diversity will contribute to the revitalization of the role of the most important economic sectors in Qatar and will achieve sustainable development that ensures the provision of all the required quantities, as well as the stability of prices of primary materials in the local market. The materials will be stored in QPMC-owned facilities in Lusail, Mesaieed and Ras Laffan. This will ensure the availability of these materials in the north, the south and the capital city of Doha to meet the needs of all construction sites in the country and to satisfy customers of contractors and users of primary materials from government.
